Brief outline of SEO:
Search engine optimisation (SEO) is all about getting web sites ranked as high as possible on search engines, relative to the words that are typed into the search box in Google or Yahoo etc.
You can't pay for high ranking! It's all about how your site is built.
• Key words and key phrases (meta tags), have to be relevant to the copy and web site. Quality content is the key to good search engine response.
• Web robots scan your website and learn what is relevant and rate appropriately, this increases the chance that your site will come up nearer the top of the search list depending on the key words or phrase' you enter into the search box.
• Appropriate links to and from other relevant web sites will improve your chances of a higher ranking.
• Please understand... It will take months for the ‘web robots’ to get to know your site and rank it accordingly!
There are specialist companies out there whom only deal with the SEO aspect of the web. It is very complex and difficult to obtain pole position. Big companies pay large fees to SEO companies to get them there. They are not always successful!
